Each year, the Katy A&M Club offers scholarships to graduating seniors of Katy ISD high schools who will be attending Texas A&M University in the fall. The funds for these scholarships are raised through the silent auction held at our annual Muster gathering as well as donations throughout the year.
In April of 2015, the Katy A&M Club Board of Directors voted to begin a capital campaign to establish an endowed scholarship through the Association of Former Students. When the $25,000 minimum is raised, an endowed scholarship will be established at the Association and it will be managed by the Texas A&M Foundation. Each year, the Katy A&M Club Scholarship Committee will select a recipient for the endowed scholarship through its normal application process and notify the Association of the student to receive the scholarship.
In the meantime, the Katy A&M Club Scholarship Committee will continue to review applications and select scholarship recipients, awarding scholarships with the funds raised as normal. Only those donations designated for the endowed scholarship fund will be earmarked towards the endowment.
